Frequently asked questions

A snapshot is a copy of your current objects and installation at the point it was created. C/AL objects can be stored in Object Analyzer as a snapshot, but you can also create a snapshot without uploading any C/AL objects by simply marking the “create without objects” field.

Snapshots are shared with your organization, so your team members can view them as well. You can use snapshots to compare two different set of objects such as a DEV vs. LIVE version

To create a snapshot we suggest visiting the Get started with snapshots page

If your company does not have any users, then yes.

However, if someone from your user already created an account with your organization’s name in Object Analyzer, we suggest asking the person (the administrator) to add your email instead. Otherwise, the email you register with won’t be able to join the organization, unless our support team adds them to your organization manually.

The advantage of being in the same organization is that you can view the same snapshots, which we advise.

This is how you create a new user

Basically yes, with a few exceptions.

Object Analyzer was created with the intention of assisting Dynamics NAV developers with their upgrade tasks for NAV. Since then newer versions of Dynamics have been released and the need for AL programming. Object Analyzer’s code compare feature does not yet support AL, but we’re working on it!

Generally, features associated with snapshots were created for C/AL only with the exception of The Change Log Cloud and Job Queue Monitor

The Change Log Cloud and Job Queue Monitor + Teams Bot have been created for Dynamics 365 and later versions of Business Central, meaning they will also support AL.

1 coin is the equivalent of 1 dollar.

Each function is set at a certain price, and the number of coins is withdrawn from your Object Analyzer account, when you accept to use the function.

Please note that the number of coins for your account is also shared with your organization.

One of the more expensive features is the merge job processing and preview. It has been set to 100 coins, because it’s a more complex task for Object Analyzer and has to be processed through our servers, which involves storing your data.

Meanwhile, the code compare feature is fairly cheap and gives you a simple overview of the hotfix you want to inspect. This does not involve our servers as much.

Example of coin usage for snapshots:

Compare standard against snapshot with code – 50 coins

Compare standard against snapshot without code – 20 coins

Compare standard against custom without code – 20 coins

By subscribing to one of our monthly plans you get a discount of either 25%, 30% or 35% depending of your selected plan.

You will always receive a message in Object Analyzer, when you have to spend coins to use a selected feature and to proceed.

1 Coin = 1 Dollar

The coin system was made to ensure that, when users from different countries use Object Analyzer they would have the exact same price, no matter the currency.
